Gravity, Entanglement and Entropy is a one-day London Mathematical Society (LMS) conference bringing together leading researchers in mathematics, theoretical physics, quantum information, and cosmology to discuss the emerging connections between gravity, quantum entanglement, and entropy—ideas that are reshaping our understanding of spacetime, black holes, and the foundations of quantum gravity.
The conference will highlight recent advances in holography, black hole physics, quantum information theory, experimental tests of quantum gravity, and modern cosmology. Despite strong overlaps in mathematical techniques and conceptual themes, these scientific communities — from string theory and holography, to quantum information and gravity experiments, to mathematical relativity and cosmology — often work in isolation. A focused UK meeting on Gravity, Entanglement and Entropy, building on Hawking’s legacy while highlighting the newest developments in entanglement-based quantum gravity, black hole entropy, and the de Sitter/anti–de Sitter debate, is therefore both timely and strategically important. It will provide a unique forum for researchers at different career stages to exchange ideas, identify common structures and sharpen the key open problems that will shape the field in the coming decade.
